Following a recent post on PHP Frameworks, I thought to take each of these frameworks and write a small tutorial using each of these frameworks. I am going to start with CodeIgniter.

Why CodeIgniter?

I have worked on CodeIgniter more than any one of the others and I simply thought it would be a good one to start with.

What does the CodeIgniter Tutorial tutorial cover?

It covers some basics, if you would like to start with more of the basics stuff I would suggest looking at the resource box down, which has all the links you need to get started with CodeIgniter. The CodeIgniter TellAFriend tutorial covers usage of two very common classes used in the form of libraries and helpers – Form Helper and the Validation Library. The TellAFriend tutorial also covers some basics of the email library of CodeIgniter. For your convenience you can download the tutorial files. Do remember to read the readme.txt file with the archive. Also you could see a working demo of the tutorial.
